Who we are

Decant Market is a marketplace for buying and selling fragrance decants. We operate at decantmarket.com. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@decantmarket.com.

Age requirement

Decant Market is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

Information we collect

When you create an account or use Decant Market, we collect:

• Email address and name (provided at sign-up)
• Listing content you create (fragrance names, descriptions, photos, prices)
• Order and transaction records (items purchased, shipping addresses, order status)
• Messages between buyers and decanters sent through the platform
• Shop profile information you choose to provide (bio, location, avatar)

We do not collect or store payment card numbers, bank account numbers, or government-issued identity documents. Those are handled directly by our payment and identity processors (see below).

How we use your information

• To operate the marketplace and process your transactions
• To send order confirmations and shipping notifications
• To facilitate messaging between buyers and decanters
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• To respond to support requests

Third-party service providers

We share your information with the following service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the platform:

• Clerk— authentication and identity management. Clerk stores your email address, name, and session tokens. See Clerk's privacy policy at clerk.com/privacy.
• Stripe— payment processing and, for decanters, Stripe Connect identity verification. Stripe receives your payment card information directly; we never see it. Decanters who open a shop may provide Stripe with bank account details and identity documents for payout eligibility. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (order confirmations, shipping updates).
• EasyPost — shipping label generation and tracking.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their marketing purposes.

We do not sell your personal information

Decant Market does not sell personal information, as defined under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and applicable state privacy laws.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax purposes (such as transaction records, which are retained for 7 years).

Payment event logs are retained for 2 years for fraud detection and dispute resolution, then purged automatically.

Your rights and choices

You may at any time:

• Access or correct your account information in your profile settings
• Request a copy of your personal data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-transactional email communications

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent update.
